Technical

The system is structural, energy efficient and mold resistant with a ½ hour fire rating.

NewSIP Panels can be assembled on site using less skilled labor and decrease overall construction times. The system is especially effective in winter building with the ability to heat the building prior to “rough in” completion by sealing off the roof with poly.

NewSIP Panels are available for foundations in place of concrete or preserved wood, or above grade. Walls come in standard thickness of 6 7/16”, 8” or 10” panels. Standard backfill heights to a maximum of 6 ½ feet.

The panel system and connection details are Patent Pending in North America under several different applications.

MagBoardTM is a magnesium based structural sheathing with a proprietary recipe. Structural magnesium based sheathing has been in production for over 30 years and has only recently been introduced to the North American market.

Energy Efficiency

  • EPS insulation is used as the core of the panel.
  • EPS holds a true R-Value of 3.75 per inch
  • While Urethane starts out with a higher value per inch it looses that value over time
  • 6 7/16” panels provide R-22 insulating value
  • 8” panels provide R-28
  • 10” panels provide R-36

Mold

·       MagBoardTM and EPS are non-nutrient and therefore do not support mold growth

Fire

·       NewSIP Panels are tested to ASTM standards and have received a ½ hour fire rating

·       MagBoardTM is rated at zero for flame spread and zero for smoke developed in a fire

Testing

  • NewSIP Panels as well as MagBoard, have been tested in an accredited 3rd party lab for structural and fire resistant properties to ASTM standards
  • Under the building codes in Canada and the United States, products that have been tested in an accredited 3rd party lab for fire and structural properties, may be used as an engineered product in construction

Construction

  • Panels come standard in 4’ X 8” and 4’ X 9’ configurations.
  • Panels are cut to fit on-site as required. This allows for field conditions and customer changes at the last minute
  • Interiors can be taped and sanded using traditional methods and materials for drywall
